Kevin McNulty, a former Director in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Department, has been appointed and confirmed as a Judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
“We are very proud of Kevin’s many stellar achievements at Gibbons,” says Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of the firm. “We know he will approach his judicial role with the greatest integrity and professionalism.”
While at Gibbons, Mr. McNulty was named one of the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2008 “Lawyers of the Year” for his work reversing the 2006 ban on New Jersey attorneys’ participation in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers® surveys. He also led the firm’s Appellate Practice Group and represented clients in a wide range of pharmaceutical, intellectual property, commercial, criminal and appellate matters.
Before joining Gibbons, Mr. McNulty served as Chief of the Appeals Division of the United States Attorney’s Office from 1995 to 1998 and as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division from 1991 to 1995. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frederick B. Lacey, United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey, and litigated a variety of civil matters in private practice before entering government service.
